Carroll Shelby.
His name means so many different things, to so many different people. Might be they had the pleasure of meeting Carroll in person, working with him, side by side making racing cars. Could be they bought a car, or truck with his name on it.
One thing for sure comes to me, is that the Mustang would not be what it is today, if not for him.
Every member of the club has had their lives touched in one way or another by this incredibly talented man.
Thank You.
Brent Cummings
President AMOA 2012.
Hi Everyone
Winter season is finally on its’ way out. I can see pavement, lots of sand and rocks on it yet, soon to be cleaned up. A few BRAVE motorcycle riders out, seeing more Mustangs on the road too. I can hardly wait. I tried to talk my wife into having the driver seat from our Shelby put into our living room for the winter, to watch speed channel from, NO LUCK.
World of Wheels, Calgary, looked like a huge success. Very busy the Saturday we went down. Met a few people and enjoyed the displays from the car and motorcycle clubs.
The New Car show in Edmonton, first weekend in March, was a big hit. Fantastic array of exotic, very expensive, and down to earth cars and trucks. I even had the opportunity to play a game of pool on a Mustang pool table.
Along with the new, there was a variety of older cars and trucks, put on the auction block by The Electric Garage. The AMOA members who volunteered had a blast pushing cars and trucks back and forth, across the block, and around the hall, both Saturday and Sunday. Even got to drive the odd one or two. This was the second year the club had the chance to help out. The Electric Garage thanks all of the volunteers.
The club bowling event March 10, was a great success, with dinner after. Ever been humbled by a two pound bowling ball before?
All for now
Brent Cummings
Presidents Message:
Hello Everyone,
What a winter we are having. Last year this time I remember 8 foot snow banks lining our driveway. Might even be an early driving season (for those that don’t drive year round). Let’s hope so.
The majority of events that the AMOA is involved in, have been confirmed and scheduled. You can check albertamustang.ca, just click the “Events” tab and the monthly calendar will come up. You can go from month to month and see what has been scheduled, with lots more to come.
Early March we will be helping the Electric Garage with their auction, pushing cars around again this year. Following weekend we will have 5 pin bowling and head to dinner after.
Mid-April will be the Diecast Show & Sale.
We have a new Vice President, Daniel Latendresse, Congrats Dan. I feel Dan will do very well as VP, bringing with him a very high level of energy and excitement. Both Dan and I are looking forward to all of the events, shows and cruises planned this year.
The Website is coming along very well, thanks, big time, to the efforts of Daniel, John and Craig who are all devoting lots of time filling the site with lots of information, pictures and news about the AMOA.
Looking forward to the season ahead.

Merry New Year To All
I would like to introduce myself. I am Brent Cummings, President of the Alberta Mustang Owners Association 2012. I have been a member of the AMOA for over a year and a half now. My wife and I have volunteered for many of the events that the club has had over the last year. We are both looking forward to the new year, and all that the Club will have to offer
I am looking forward to the year ahead, and the opportunity to meet more of our Club members.
I would like to thank John, Rick and Sharon for everything they have done for the AMOA over the last two years. They have been just awesome, volunteering so much of their free time for the Alberta Mustang Owners Association
Thank You

President’s Message –December 2011
November turned out to be a busy month for the AMOA. We kicked off the month on November 12th with our third Big Little Diecast and Model Show N Sale at the Alberta Aviation Museum.
We were excited to see that the number of tables sold for the event and the public attending during the day increased significantly. As a result of this and the Freedom Ford Show N Shine, AMOA was able to make donations to the CHED Santas Anonymous, the Mustard Seed and the Hope Mission to help families and individuals over the Christmas season. Thanks to Freedom Ford for sponsoring both of these events and to the Alberta Aviation Museum for partnering on the Diecast events this year!
The other big happening during November was the completion of the redevelopment of the AMOA website. The new website, which is now up and running, will provide increased access for our members to current and past newsletters, event photos, meeting minutes, purchase of club memorabilia, club by-laws, membership renewal, a personalized e-mail address and an online forum for chatting about interesting topics. We will also be offering new opportunities for local business to advertise.
Nelson Bender provided us with a great presentation on vehicle appraisal and care and storage of vehicles at the November monthly meeting. This topped off a year of monthly presentations that have spiced up the monthly meetings quite a bit. Great idea Randy
The Annual General Meeting was held on November 13th at the King Edward Community Hall. I am pleased to announce that Brent Cummings was elected unanimously as the President for 2012. I will be handing over the keys to Brent at the Christmas party. Brent and his wife Louise joined the club a little over a year ago and have brought a great deal of enthusiasm to club events. I have no doubt that 2012 will be a great year for the AMOA with Brent in the driver’s seat!
On that note, I’d like to thank Rick, Sharon, Craig, Wayne and Charmain, and of course John and Gilbert, for their great support over the past two years. I’d also like to thank the many club members who have volunteered enthusiastically at the many events that we have hosted during that time. As the old saying goes, “many hands make for light work.”
Well that’s about all for this month. Remember to join us for the monthly coffee run (second Sunday of the month) and the monthly brunch (third Saturday of the month). The brunch has moved to the Humpty’s at the corner of 96th Street and 82nd Ave (Whyte Ave). Finally, the AMOA will be hosting over 50 folks at the Christmas party for an action-packed evening on December 20th .Don’t forget to check us out at www.albertmustang.ca

Cheers!

President’s Message –November 21011
October was a relatively quiet month as the car season came to an end. Having said this, we were busy behind the scenes working on a number of upcoming events...
We finalized our plans for the third Big Little Diecast and Model Show N Sale to be held at the Alberta Aviation Museum on Saturday November 12. This event continues to grow. In addition to the diecast and model displays and of course the Hot Wheel’s Drag Racing, those attending will be able to see the radio control cars drifting through an indoor track. Rumour has it that there may even be some radio-controlled helicopters hovering overhead. Awards for the best displays and various other prizes will round off the day. So come out and have some fun in support of local charities that provide meals for families at Christmas.
We also moved forward with plans for the Club’s Annual General Meeting to be held on November 13th at the King Edward Park (small) Community Hall. The AGM will feature an audio-visual review of the highlights from the past year and special service awards for members. We are still taking nominations for the various positions on our Board of Directors so don’t be shy.
Finally, we confirmed December 20th as the date for our Annual Christmas Bash. In addition to the potluck and Chinese gift giving, this year we will have a special treat for all those who attend. While all of this planning was going on we also managed to make a nice donation to the Cross Cancer Institute based on the proceeds from the Sherwood Ford Show N Shine!
Well that’s about all for this month. Remember to join us for the monthly coffee run (second Sunday of the month) and the monthly brunch (third Saturday of the month). The brunch is moving to the Humpty’s at the corner of 96th Street and 82nd Ave (Whyte Ave).\
P.S. By the time you read this, the new AMOA website should be up and running.

President’s Message – October 21011
September was jam packed with AMOA action! The month kicked off with the International Mustang Meet in Spokane Washington. Congratulations to all our members who took home hardware http://www.inlandempiremustangclub.com/
! While a good number of folks travelled to Spokane, a few of us ventured down to Drayton Valley for its annual drag racing weekend.
Coming close on the heels of all of this excitement was the Sherwood Ford Show n Shine. With the weather cooperating (this time), we had a great turnout with over 80 cars. One of the highlights of the event was a special plaque presentation to Mark Hicks of Sherwood Ford for his many years of support for the Show. The new facility at Sherwood is state of the art. Thanks to Mark and the Sherwood staff and Daryl R. for putting together another great show!
The day after the Sherwood Show, we hosted the 2nd Annual Dale Haluschak Texas Scramble Golf Game. This year 25 folks turned out to play a round of golf and remember Dale. David, John, Barry and Mike returned the best score with a par on the front nine.
We topped off the month with the Annual Corn Roast. Twenty-five members (a slightly different 25 ) spent the evening socializing and eating a great pot luck, including, of course, lots of corn. A special thanks to John and Maria S. for hosting the event! Thanks also to Karan S. for once again providing lots of her award winning chili.
Looking ahead we will be holding our third Big Little Diecast/Model Show N Sale at the Alberta Aviation Museum on November 12th. We are also working hard to organize the Annual Christmas Party. Stay tuned for details on that.
Finally, we will be holding our Annual General Meeting on November 13th. Since a number of key executive positions will be vacated this year, if you would like to nominate someone for the Club Executive, please let us know ASAP. All executive positions are open for nominations with a vote on the new executive taking place at the AGM. Mark your calendar and plan to come out and vote.
Well that’s about all for this month. Remember to join us for the monthly coffee run (second Sunday of the month) and the monthly brunch (third Saturday of the month).
Cheers!

President’s Message – September 21011
Well, Summer finally arrived in August! This meant that we were able to pull off the Freedom Ford All Ford Show N Shine without a hitch. A record 87 cars signed up for a great day of fun in the sun! Once again, we were lucky to have the portable dyno on hand. I had to throw mine up on the dyno again to see what it would do and once again I wasn’t disappointed. We also did a 50/50 and gave away some money to a lucky participant. Thanks to Rick for once again quarterbacking the event and to Freedom Ford and its staff for sponsoring the event and the prizes.
Looking ahead to the month of September, our members will be heading to the International Mustang Meet in Spokane Washington or cruising down to Drayton Valley for the Thunder in the Valley drag racing over the September long weekend. AMOA will also be hosting the Sherwood Ford All Ford Show N Shine On September 10th and the Dale Haluschak Texas Scramble Golf Game On September 11th. The Annual AMOA Corn Roast is also planned for September 17th. Finally, Devon is hosting a Show N Shine on September 24th. So, with Summer weather finally arriving in Alberta, we’re planning to make the best of it!
Well that’s about all for this month. Remember to join us for the monthly coffee run (second Sunday of the month) and the monthly brunch (third Saturday of the month).
Cheers!
